General

All details provided in a quotation are based on the information interpreted by the estimator. It is the customer’s responsibility to review the quote and ensure all items, specifications, and details are correct. Baltic Stonemason Professionals is not responsible for the accuracy of any dimensions or measurements provided by the customer or by any person acting on their behalf that may affect the installation of the product.

Any changes to the details outlined in the quotation — including but not limited to dimensions, materials, fabrication requirements, or installation specifications — may result in a variation to the quoted price.

Unless otherwise specified, quotations do not include the removal of existing benchtops.

Quotes generally include two site visits: one for measurement and one for installation. If additional visits are required due to site access issues, incomplete joinery, design changes, or appliances not being available on site, additional charges may apply.

All quotes are based on standard site access conditions (single-storey access with no stairs). If additional stairs or difficult access conditions are identified by our staff, extra costs may apply and will be quoted after inspection.

Invoices

Once the stone slab has been cut, cancellations or changes of mind are not permitted. If the order is cancelled after this stage, the full cost of the stone slab will still apply.

Baltic Stonemason Professionals reserves the right to charge storage fees if delivery or installation of the product is delayed for an unreasonable period after the invoice has been issued.

Any offcuts generated during your project belong to the client. However, if you wish to keep these offcuts, this must be requested at the time the invoice is issued and noted on the invoice. Offcuts can be stored at our factory until required, although storage fees may apply.

If our installers arrive on-site and standard delivery access is not possible, requiring the use of a crane or additional lifting equipment, these costs will be charged to the customer.

For projects that include splashbacks installed onto brick walls, Baltic Stonemason Professionals recommends that the walls be properly rendered prior to installation.

Installation

The customer, or an authorised representative, must be present on-site during both the measurement and installation stages to review and approve the work completed. If the customer is unable to attend, a nominated representative must be available with authority to approve the installation details.

All work sites must comply with relevant industry safety standards. If the site is deemed unsafe by our staff, work will be suspended and our installers may leave the site until safety concerns are addressed. Additional site visit charges may apply.

Stone installation may require cutting, sanding, or polishing on-site. Customers should ensure all furniture, appliances, and surrounding areas are properly protected before installation begins. We recommend leaving protective plastic covers on cabinetry until the stone installation is complete.

Any concerns regarding installation quality or stone defects must be raised with the installers at the time of installation. Once the installation has been completed and signed off, responsibility for any defects or damage may transfer to the customer.

Baltic Stonemason Professionals will not be liable for damage, stains, or etching that occurs after installation.

If a material installed by Baltic Stonemason Professionals is later found to have a defect covered under the stone manufacturer’s warranty, the removal and reinstallation costs for the replacement stone will be the responsibility of the customer. However, Baltic Stonemason Professionals may provide these services at a discounted rate.

Natural Stone

Natural stone slabs may vary in colour, shade, pattern, veining, and texture. Natural features such as pits, fissures, cracks, or fragmentation may occur and may not always be visible in small samples or previous installations. It is the customer’s responsibility to inspect the selected slab before fabrication.

Natural stone is porous, and the level of porosity varies between different stone types. Baltic Stonemason Professionals will apply a penetrating sealer during installation to help protect the surface. However, sealing provides only partial protection against staining and must be regularly maintained by the customer.

For cleaning natural stone surfaces, we recommend using warm water and a mild detergent or a neutral stone cleaner. Baltic Stonemason Professionals will not be responsible for staining, discolouration, or damage caused by the use of unsuitable cleaning products or improper maintenance.

If Baltic Stonemason Professionals is not the supplier of the stone, we are not responsible for any imperfections in the material that may result in cracking or damage during fabrication or installation.

Joints

We aim to achieve the best possible vein matching (book matching) where applicable. However, due to slab sizes and benchtop layouts, this may not always be possible.

Unless specifically stated in the invoice, book matching is not included in the quoted price. This is an additional service that requires extra planning and fabrication, and any request for book matching must be clearly noted on the invoice with the associated additional cost.

All joins will be sealed using a colour-matched resin as closely as possible. Join widths generally range between 1–2mm, although this may vary depending on the installer’s professional assessment.

The final position of joins will typically be discussed and confirmed during the check-measure stage. However, join placement may change due to slab size limitations or cabinet layout requirements. Any changes will be confirmed with the customer in writing.
